YAZ - ⵢⴰⵣ. Symbol of Imazighen

The letter "yaz" (/z/) is one of the 33 letters in the Neo-Tifinagh alphabet.

The letter has a significant cultural and symbolic value in Amazigh society.

It is at the heart of our flag representing Imazighen which means “freedom” or “free man”. Yaz is widely used in Amazigh jewelry, art, fashion and rugs.

The use of the letter "yaz" and other Amazigh symbols in art and design is a way to preserve and promote this cultural heritage and to share it with the rest of the world.
