Queen of Naïve Art ⴰⵎⵙⴷⴷⵉ
(1929 – 2004)
Often referred to as the "Queen of Naïve Art," emerged from humble beginnings to become one of Morocco's most celebrated artists. Born in a small village near El Jadida, Talal's journey into the art world was unconventional. After the death of her husband, she turned to painting to support her family. Her work is characterized by bold, vibrant colors and whimsical, childlike figures that capture the essence of everyday life. Talal's art breaks the boundaries of traditional forms and brings a fresh, intuitive perspective to the Moroccan art scene.
We are proud of Chaïbia Talal's contributions to art and culture. She has shown the world the depth and vibrancy of Amazigh heritage and has done so with a spirit that reflects the best of who we are. Her art is a living testament to our history, our creativity, and our unyielding spirit. As Amazigh women, we stand tall, inspired by Chaïbia Talal's legacy, and committed to continuing the rich tradition of Amazigh art and culture.
Chaïbia Talal's impact is profound, and her spirit lives on in each brushstroke, in every vibrant hue, and in the hearts of all Amazigh women who proudly carry forward her legacy.
